"Good Byes are not forever, Good byes are not the end,!
They simply mean, we will miss you until we meet again!"
Respected dignitaries on the stage, beloved teachers and all my dear friends, a very good morning to all.
We all know Br Hector very well. But I would like to share some of my thoughts to all of you present here. Br. Hector has played an important role in my life by raising the toast to my parents on their engagement and wishing them to have twelve children. So today I am here standing in front of you , all filled with the sweetness of 12 children. When I was small,my dad used to bring me to this institution. Whenever I met Br Hector, there was joy and laughter. I played with him a lot as a kid and enjoyed his pampering. Br Hector loves children to the core. His funny faces, love and care made the child's day a wonderful one. I remember while studying here in high school, me and some of my friends would go inside his cabin, and when he was not in the office, we would open the fridge and search for chocolates and when he came, we would beg for the chocolates and got them. Well, I have eaten a lot of chocolates from his side.
I must say Brother Hector is very friendly to all the students and the students do enjoy his company. He is a gentleman, mentor and I have seen many kids getting consoled in their odd times. The only precaution we used to take as is making sure that his BP doesn't rise.If it rises, we know, that day it will be thunder, lightening and later raining cats and dogs.
Br Hector has been a students'principal. He has given par excellence for the betterment of St Joseph's institution. Today almost majority of the poor children of Bajpe get education because of him. Not only that, he gave free education for Kannada medium girls from class 8 upto class 12. He gave his full support for talented students and helped them to achieve their goals. He has been an excellent coach for the football team and lead them to victory to the international level. His help is unnoticed. He works without any publicity. If St. Josephs is famous in the world map, it is because of
Br Hector.
Changes are good, we change for better. Some changes are difficult to accept and especially losing Br. Hector as a principal is really painful. There are invisible tears in this auditorium. I won't think it is easy by any person to fill his socks. The memories and only memories willbe a treasure in life ahead. I will have a hero who pampered me and saw me growing so tall from the grass root and I will grow further with his blessings. On behalf of all students who have experience the love from you, Br Hector, I wish you all happiness. You will easily find a new set of cool students like us but we will never find another cool principal like you.
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back,
The rainfall softly on your fields.
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
Long live Brother Hector. We love you and miss you!
