A
teacher resigned to the post stating that fear has led to her drastic decision.
She said that the teachers are afraid of Headmaster, Headmaster is fearful of department,
the department is afraid of Government and the Government is afraid of parents, and the
Parents are afraid of children and the children are the most comfortable
lot. The nature and innovative
experiments have changed the system of education and its application to the
students with force, pressure and fear.
The concept of child centre education
is very much prevalent today in the educational system and the Government,
Department, managements and the teachers have to strive to achieve this process
to be after the students. It is not the pressure, force and the fear that
dominates in molding the character of the students rather knowing the student
that helps in the total growth and development of the child. It is developing
three ‘H’ – Head, Hand, and Heart which is rightly pointed out by Mahathma
Gandiji.
The
efficient leadership of Christian Brothers for the past 40 years at St Joseph
Composite College has taken the institution to the people. The united and
skilled approach of the brothers of management and faculty who committed themselves
for the cause of education made a difference. I do appreciate their involvement
and service in educational apostolate. The decision to be relived from the
institution is to go out the remote and backward areas of our country speaks
highly of your motto. May the Lord be praised in your apostolate of 40 years
and Jesus, the great teacher inspire you in developing the backward areas of
our country.
